UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and will require replacement. It is essential to keep the same dimensions as the old handles when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle is a modern door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This type of handle is available in many styles and finishes. This handle is offered by a number of manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from durable materials, and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and operate from the same spindle and screw fixings. They are easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be placed and angled to accommodate the needs of all users. The sprung lever can also be shortened to fit the widest range of locks. This is especially useful for narrower door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A lever that is shorter can be used on doors with latches that can be activated with the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently from lever-type handles on doors. These handles are operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, either inline or offset. They are typically used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White chrome, and Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC levers for handles come with a spindle, screws, and can be fitted on a uPVC patio door handle with lock. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is usually an advantage when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that move out of their horizontal position when not in use.

When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ on both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement may also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of window handles of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. Internal and external doors require different levels of security.

There are cylinders that are constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the break-in which can delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located inside the base of your door handle's backplate providing a sprung solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after use. The handles had no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was removed. The addition of this simple element is one of the best ways to correct this, and is an effective way to keep your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, since they aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes have been specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes within the backplate of the door handle for many brands of uPVC doors. They are available as one unit. They feature a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
