3 Wheeled Buggies

A 3-wheeler is ideal for off-road walking & taking on terrains from bumpy pavements to woodland tracks. They can also be easier to maneuver up and down kerbs than models with four wheels.

Stability

With four wheels and a central point of gravity that is balanced by the weight of your child in the seat, buggies with four wheels are generally considered to be more stable than three-wheelers. However, that doesn't mean an older model with three wheels isn't worth considering, as many of these models are made to cope with anything from rough terrain to bustling high streets.

Find a buggie with large rear wheels, and a lockable wheel on the front. This makes it easier to drive and less likely to break apart when you're on bumpy roads. These all-terrain buggies often have pneumatic tyres too, which are excellent for handling surfaces that aren't paved and can even be used on sandy beaches or tracks in woodland.

They're also the best buggies to be jogging with, as they provide excellent stability over rough terrain and aid in keeping up with your jogging partner. They can also be used to go up and down steep kerbs and many of them have spring suspension that is built-in, so your baby can enjoy a comfortable ride.

A stroller with 3 wheels isn't easy to maneuver due to its large frame. It is more difficult to get through narrow spaces and doorways than a 4-wheeler. Some manufacturers have solved this issue with an innovative design that turns the wheels upside down when they are not being used. This reduces their dimensions and makes it easier to squeeze through doors.

You'll also have to think about whether the buggy you choose to use is suitable for your little one from birth or if you're thinking of using it in conjunction with an infant car seat or carry cot. Manoeuvrability

Three-wheeled buggies usually offer better manoeuvrability than pushchairs with four wheels. Many of them have a swivelling wheel on the front which allows you to steer and change direction with one hand. Some models have wheels that lock to provide stability on rougher terrain. Some models can be used with an additional buggy or seat, in case you want to expand your family.

If you're planning to take your three-wheeled buggy off roads, you should consider selecting a model that has tyres with air in them (also known as pneumatic tyres) that can withstand the most challenging terrain. These tyres might need to be pumped up from time to time, but they will be more durable and puncture-proof than solid tyres. It is recommended to choose a model that has an adjustable front wheel that is locked to assist you in navigating difficult surfaces.

A single front wheel may also indicate that three-wheelers can be heavier than buggies with four wheels when folded. Be sure that the model you choose can fit in the boot of your car and can be set up upright if required. Certain models can fold in one hand and stand on their own when collapsed. This will save space in car boot spaces that are smaller.

A good three-wheel pushchair can take on any terrain, from busy streets to forest tracks. But it's important to consider what you'll be using for your day-to-day use.
